Teaching Workshop: "But I studied so hard! How learning to learn and low-stakes quizzing can improve college students’ grades." In-Person
Join us in the COEHS STEP Lab (57/1420) for a Brown-Bag Lunch workshop about improving student outcomes. Dr. Charlie Fitzsimmons, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, will review some self-reported study strategies of UNF college students and discuss two potential ways to improve student grades: low stakes quizzing and a learning-to-learn instructional module. Then, he will elicit input from the audience about their thoughts on implementing learning-to-learn modules in their own courses and other ideas about improving student learning outcomes.
Please register by 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25th. This event is hosted by UNF’s Northeast Florida Center for STEM Education and the Office of Faculty Excellence. Please email Brian Lane, brian.lane@unf.edu, or Juliana Leding, j.leding@unf.edu, with questions or if you need accommodations.
